The girls had their dance recital last night and I wanted to share a few pics. We had a wonderful time watching the girls!

A card challenge...

I have a card to share today that I made for a card challenge at the card store that I take card classes at. (R' Impressions in Blue Earth, MN). Each month, Helen, the store owner, gives out a packet with card materials that need to be used and then all cards created will be voted upon to see who wins. I think a pack of stickers is the prize.

I added the lace, Primas, Pattern boy and Websters card. One of the required pieces was the orange mesh that I made into flowers. I didn't like it on it's own.

Steampunk atc???

The Scrappy Tree is having a Steampunk atc swap and this is my entry for it. I am not sure if my main image is Steampunky enough though. Otherwise, I really like it. The images are from a Graphic 45 paper that I cut.

I used Mod Podge on top of the image and then I sprinkled Perfect Pearls powder (copper I believe) on top and then I brushed on another layer of Mod Podge. I like the way it made the powder spread (unfortunately, it doesn't show well in the picture). I added a sprocket and gear to complete the atc!

Whew! Busy week!

This week was packed with things going on in the evening and I unfortunately did not get much crafting done. The kids had their Spring concert, I had an online class for daycare, and the list went on.....but, I did get one card done!! Yay!!

This card uses a used dryer sheet as it's base and it was the first time I have worked with that technique. I have heard of people using them before, but I never had. I posted all the details over at The Scrappy Tree blog if you'd like to take a peek. I have been enjoying coming up with ways to recycle objects and materials on my projects so far this month. I can't wait to try some more things out!!

Happy Saturday! Please keep your fingers crossed that I actually get my new sewing machine operational!! It made its way out of the box but it isn't set up to use yet!!

April's Inspiration Challenge: Come and Play!

I made the layout below using the t shirt as my inspiration~!

Supplies: Wasau paper, AC Cardstock, Maya Rd. chipboard, Little Yellow Bicycle glossy paper, Kraft cardstock, acrylic paint, Martha Stewart punch, Yes Glue, Thickers.

Today is one of those days that I'm tired and I just woke up! Last night I was busy watching Bones (one of my favorite shows) and getting ready for our town's city wide garage sale next month. I am vowing not to leave things til the last minute like I usually do when it's garage sale time, so I am busy going through each and every room and storage contaner that is in our attic! It is a sizeable task! I am hoping to have the storage part done by Sunday.


Anyway, I am rambling on....Here's a card I made the other day.
My mother in law gave me these gorgeous old paper doilies and I thought it would be perfect for this project. I simply cut a few parts off for it to fit. I used Pink Paislee paper as the card base and layered it with a Websters Pages paper. Then I put my doilie on top of that. I put on a torn bit of vintage sheet music and then I placed my pattern girl on top of that. I used a Prima gemstone flourish and Prima flowers as well. I used a gorgeous Delish Designs brad in the center of one flower, a vintage button for another and an American Crafts brad for the third. The stamped sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Earth friendly
