Top Ten of 2010

As we all reflect on 2010, I thought I would share my Top 10 personal favorite projects from 2010. I hope you all have a wonderful New Year!

Playing with a few new things

For Christmas I got a new stamp set from Papertrey Ink which would be perfect for my bookmarks that I like to make. They have very pretty images and cute little sayings such as, "This is where I fell asleep!" I thought they'd be perfect to make as a gift set for someone special!

I used my Copic markers to color the images and Glossy Accents to add some shine to the flower petals.
I also made a card last night. I used a big Prima blossom and Prima bling on the front.

Other Supplies used:
October Afternoon paper
Fiskars border punch
Marvy Inks
Thanks for looking! I hope you all have a happy and healthy 2011!!

A little something to share

I don't really have much to share today. I've been working on a few birthday gifts that I just can't share at the moment until my birthday girl gets them, but I did have a little something to post today.

One of the things I wanted to share was my favorite ink pads!! They are put out by Marvy (they are called Marvy Matchables) and they stack on top of each other to form a giant tower of ink! The dye ink pad is raised and it can be used to ink any size stamp. I love their compact size and the way the stack! These are my go to inks.
Next, I have a quick little card to share. I appologize for the lighting. I took this picture at night and this was the best I could edit it! :)

I used my new stamp set from Hero Arts. I just loved the type writer and cute sayings that went with this set. (More items to follow from this set in the coming days!)
Other supplies used:
Crate Paper
Hero Arts gemstones
foam tape
Marvy inkpad (black)
Thank you so much for stopping by!

A Very Merry Christmas to you!

Hello Bloggers! I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope your day today is filled with fun, laughter, hugs, smiles and even the sweet smell of baking! If you are visiting today from the Blog Hop that Gayle and Kel have put together, I'd like to welcome you to my blog. I have some Christmas cards to share today.

I made a lot of quickie Christmas cards this year since Christmas seemed to sneek up on me! I just loved this GingerBread paper from DCWV!

And, what's a Winter day without hot cocoa??? I loved this brad from Oriental Trading Company!

We've seen so much snow already this Winter, that I had to make some snowflake Christmas cards!

Even though these flowers would not be in bloom at this time of year, I couldn't resist adding them to this card!!

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I'd love to pass you along to the next blog on the blog hop list, Leanne's MY LITTLE LIFE OF SCRAP.

Here's a list at all the great bloggers participating in the Blog Hop. Make sure you hop along to them all when you get a chance!

Merry Christmas to you all!!

Paper Dolls

My friend Erica from ZUNKY CHIC and I did a little paper doll swap a little while ago and I was so blown away by her creativity with the doll and outfits she sent me! They are amazing and I'd like to share them with you today!

How cute is the little flower in her hair?!! I just love how sweet this little girl is! And don't forget to check out her shoes!! They are so sparkly and pretty!
The second outfit she sent with the doll is just as cute as the first!! I love how she sewed her fabric and the lace trims are gorgeous!
Thank you Erica for this fun swap!!

The Birthday Boy

My Dylan turned 11 on the 28th of November and I just can't believe how fast he is growing before my eyes! Here's a few photos I'll share from his birthday celebration.

Say Cheese Dylan!
Getting ready to blow out the candles...

The cake...He wanted a Winter themed cake this year.

We had a great time celebrating his birthday on Thanksgiving day. Dylan got a lot of books and fun learning games that he will enjoy for a long time to come!

Thankful Challenge at The Scrappy Tree

A Scrappy Tree tradition is to do a project about being thankful. Last year I did a little mini about things that I was thankful for in my life and this year I decided to do a layout about what being thankful means to me.

The journaling reads: To me, to be thankful means you must appreciate and see both the good and the bad in your life and realize that the bad can be overcome. The good stands out so much more when you don't give the bad power to influence you or bring you down. You must always be thankful for the good.
Come check out the other projects at The Scrappy Tree and take time to think about being thankful this season!

The Blue Challenge

The Scrappy Tree is taking part in World Pneumonia Day and its' cause to educate and vaccinate against pneumonia for children. As a part of our support, we hosted a Blue Challenge. WPD asks that all people wear blue jeans/blue on World Pneumonia Day (tomorrow) and at The Scrappy Tree we thought we'd challenge everyone to create something blue. It's not too late to join in on the challenge! Check out the blog for more information!

My project for the Blue challenge was a corner bookmark. I used blue cardstock for thebase, a Fiskars border punch for bottom edge, ric rac in blue, a blue felt flower and an old blue button for the flower center. I used pop dots to pop up the World Pneumonia logo.
Please check out The Scrappy Tree to read more about the World Pneumonia organization and this challenge. There are ways to donate to the cause as well. A ten dollar donation can vaccinate a child and save a life!

Fun weekend!

I always have fun when I spend time with Amy and this past weekend was another one of those times. I met her on Saturday evening, spent the night scrapping and watching tv with her and then we went to sleep (of course that was only one and a half hours of sleep, but oh well!). Then it was off to the Minnesota Vikings football game against the Arizona Cardinals.

We had fun at the game. So did the man behind us! :)

Banners on the outside of the Metrodome.

We made sure to see the players practice before the game began. One of the best players to watch was Brett Favre.

We had a great view! Wonderful seats!!

The game did not look good for us for quite awhile. But we came alive and from behind to tie it up and lead us into overtime.

We won!! Thank goodness!!

The game was so much fun. I wish all the games weren't sold out (or way too much money on stub hub) because I would love to go again this season.

Some Halloween Fun

Halloween was lots of fun at our house this year! I thought I'd take a minute and post some pics!

Ella was TinkerBell this year. TinkerBell was apparently a popular costume this year. She must have had at least 6 other girls in her preschool class dressed the same! :)

Dylan was BumbleBee the Transformer!

Debbie was Princess Peach from Super Mario Brothers!

The fairy was so excited, she had to fly ahead!

The President (Tom) was in town to trick or treat as well!
Hope your Halloween was a good one!

October's Inspiration over at The Scrappy Tree

Inspiration Monday has restarted at The Scrappy Tree! This image was used as the source of inspiration this week.

This is what I made:
I used alcohol inks to try and replicate the colors from the image and I painted a Maya Rd. Chipboard tree with black acrylic paint to add to this festive wall hanging.
Come on over to The Scrappy Tree and check out the challenge! We'd love to see what you make!
Happy Monday!

Junk Bonanza Second Post!

For some reason, I could not add any more pics to my first post from today so here is my second post! :) I had found so many pretty things at the Junk Bonanza! Here's a sampling of what I found:

These old advertisements are just so gorgeous!

Beautiful pink/coral lace!

Some Vintage patterns just 25 cents each!!!

A flower frog and vintage lace!

This lovely paper bag album (from that one booth I referenced in my last post!). I just love this album!! I am inspired to make one myself!

Junk Bonanza pics

As I have mentioned before, when my friend Erica came to MN we went to the Junk Bonanza and since I left my camera at home (nice one huh?) Erica took all our pics from the day. I'd like to share some of them with you now. Thank you Erica for bringing your camera! :)

This was such a fun place. We had a great time!

I think my favorite place to check out was this one booth that had gorgeous paper bag albums and vintage paper items that had me very happy!

What a great display of goods!

Love the letter charms!
Now come to think of it, I never did share pics of everything I got that day!! I'll have to make another post!
