Merry Christmas to me!

Hello!  I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!  Today I have a video to share of some things I just got today from Dick Blick Art Supply that I have eagerly waited for!  I am a big fan of the Faber Castell Pitt Big Brush Artist Pens and I pretty much completed my collection of them.  I believe the only ones I don't have are gold and silver which I don't really care to get as I don't think I'd use them much.  Most places sell them for $5 a marker, but Dick Blick sells them for $2.55 each so if you are looking to pick any up, that is where I suggest.  They are also quick on shipping!  (Good for impatient people like me when I order things).  I also give them an A+ on customer service.  Once I got dry markers (the tops had come off in the shipping process) and they sent replacements Fed Ex overnight!!!  Wow!

I also got some Inktense watercolor pencils, which according to Jennifer McQuire (crafter and Hero Arts designer), are the best things ever because they are more like ink when wet and get a vibrant color.  I will try them out tonight.

I hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve!

Bookmarks and more

I am currently preparing for a craft sale at our church on December 8th and at every sale I've been in in the past, bookmarks have been a quick seller. I am making a variety for this sale. Today I'm showing you a set of 4 vintage corner bookmarks using papers and stickers all from Cosmo Cricket.

The second picture I'm showing you today is the four cards I made last night at card class. I loved the Christmas tree stamp so much that I bought it. :)

Some Halloween Work

Hi there everyone.  I am working on trying to add video to my blog so here's my first attempt.  :)

I think I figured out how to do this!  haha!  Slowly but surely, my technological knowledge is increasing.  :)

This video just shows a little of what I've been working on lately.  I always make the daycare kiddos holiday cards and this is what I've been coloring for their Halloween cards.  Hope you enjoy the video!  :)

Hello!  Sweeping off the dust on the ole' blog here.  I have a project that I shared over at The Scrappy Tree that I'd like to share here.

I just love altering paper bag pockets!  This one was so much fun.  Head on over to The Scrappy Tree to see the post about the details!

A quick little card

I got some new goodies from 2peasinabucket and I had to play around already today. Crate paper makes this adorable baby paper so I went right to work with that. The wooden word is also from Crate Paper. Hope you enjoy the card today.

Lots of stuff!

Lot's of stuff to post about today.

The first thing I'd like to share are some dance pictures from the girls' recital.  I just love watching them dance and have fun.

I hope the girls keep with it for many more years to come.

The next thing I have to share are pictures of some recent crafty work.  The first is a wall hanging using a wood frame that I got from a garage sale for 25 cents.  It just needed me to add some dark brown paint and paper from Crate paper.  I hope to have this for sale at the Arts and More Festival in September.

The next picture is a batch of cards that I am also making for the sale.  Most of these cards are blank fronts at the moment.  I am putting together the cards here and there (like at naptime) so I don't have all my supplies on hand to make them up completely.  I will complete them at a later date.
So basically, this is what I've been up to lately.  I hope to share more pictures tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by.

I finally am back!

Jeez!  I'm not even going to focus on how long I was away from the blog and just dive on in to my post!  :)

I made a post over at The Scrappy Tree  today with a few cards that I made last night using scraps.  Here are the pics.  Please check The Scrappy Tree for more information!

Look for another post soon!!!  :)

Thanks for coming over today!

Good morning everyone!  Well, I was able to get a bit further in my Project Life pages and getting them completed.  Today I'd like to show you my new and improved title page.

Here's the before:

Needless to say, it was a page lacking some things.  Here's how I think it will stay:

I added some more photos and I may/may not add a few more embellies to a few pics but for now I'm leaving it.

Today I also posted over at The Scrappy Tree about my Washi tape organization.  I love Washi tape and I've really found that throwing it in a drawer or a bowl just didn't work for me.  So, I used some vintage thread spools to put them on.

I took this picture with my phone so it's a little blurry but I think you get the idea.  I love that I can see all my tapes and they don't slide off the bottom end when I pick them up to look at them.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to see you here in the future!

Some Project Life Progress!!!

Hello everyone!  It has been awhile (jeez, I keep saying that don't I?)  Well, I am here today to post what I've been working on here and there.....Project Life scrapbooking.

It's a big trendy scrapbooking undertaking but I am enjoying myself.  I thought it would be easier for me than traditional scrapbooking of just birthdays, holidays, special events, etc. but I found that I wasn't really finding my rhythm and I felt overwhelmed.  There are so many wonderful bloggers out there posting inspiration on Project Life and I found that Michelle Wooderson's style (and all her supplies she sells) really speak to me!  Check out her blog here and her store here.http://madebymish.bigcartel.com/
She has wonderful blog posts full of fantastic Project Life pages (among other things) and one of the most helpful things she posts are Project Life tips!!  I have found those to be super valuable.  One of her tips was keeping track of daily (or weekly) happenings in a planner.  Here's my freebie planner that I got from my in laws:

Each day I write a little blurb about something that went on.  (Boy are we boring!  lol)  Since doing this and taking photos, I realize I need to take WAY more pictures each day.  I had trouble getting enough to fill the pages.  Starting now, I'm trying to take pictures often.  The iphone helps with that!!  The pictures on the right side of the picture are from the phone and ones I emailed to myself to print last night.

Last night was really only the 3rd or 4th time I was able to mess with my Project Life goodies.  Most of the time when I start, I'm trying to get supplies together for it and that takes most of my time.  I think I'm finally figuring out what supplies I like best for this project and I'm trying to store them together so they are all quick and easy to grab!

I worked on my title page to my Project Life 2012 book last night.  Here's what I have so far:

Okay, so far, that's what I have for my title page.  I used the Project Life supplies and a little bag from Michelle Wooderson's shop (see link above).  Please note this is a work in progress photo!!  I am writing my ideas on post its for additions to this page!  Hopefully by the weekend, I will have an updated and completed title page!!!!

I also worked on one other page last night from Valentines' week.  I did not take NEARLY ENOUGH pictures that week so I decided to only do that as a one page spread.  I'm hoping to get my act in gear and take enough pics so I can do double page spreads!  (Which is what I've wanted to do all along).  I plan on doing that with this week that is currently in progress!

Here's the Valentines' week page: (so far, also a work in progress!)

First of all, nothing on this page is where it is most likely going to stay!  lol.  I printed out some pics wallet sized for this and I need to reprint in a larger size.  Since I didn't get that many pictures taken, I definitely need to make some bigger!!!   We made red velvet cupcakes that week and the girls really had fun decorating them.  I just need to make them bigger!!  Look for the completed page this weekend!!!

So, in conclusion of this very big blog post (by my standards anyway), I have to say that Project Life is such a neat way to document the everyday and it does take work.  Once you have your organization down, I think things really click.  Last night, things just clicked for me!  I am hoping to improve these work in progress pages and further create some awesome pages as the weeks go on!  I'm excited to try!

Thanks for stopping by!

Good morning!  A lot of my crafty time has been devoted to my scraproom reorganization.  But, now I'm getting back into action.  I'd like to share a few pictures of a paper bag pocket I made last night.

I just loved the October Afternoon Paper so I used that as a focal point in the project.  I had an antique Egg Saver envelope and a doily that I added to the outside of the paper bag pocket.  For the inside, I added a card to let someone know how happy they make me.  Here's a close up of the card:

I still used the October Afternoon paper but I added some white crepe paper stitched on to a panel of paper and a tag with my Papertrey Ink sentiment stamped on it.  I painted a Maya Rd. chipboard heart, sprinkled it with mica flakes and added it on as a simple finishing touch!

Thank you for looking today!

Good morning!  I finally have a few things crafty to share with you!  I had been quite busy rearranging my craft space and I'm finally able to start creating again.  :)  First up is a baby boy card for a custom order.

I used some My Minds Eye papers, some little elements from Michelle Wooderson's etsy store and a cute little premade tag that I have literally had for ages!  It's a good feeling to finally use a supply that I've hoarded forever.  :)

Next up to share is my first week of Project Life.  This is the week of Debbie's birthday.
I'm just getting the hang of this Project Life thing and what types of embellies work best etc., so I hope next week's will be even better!  :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hi there!  Just a quickie little post here today.  I'm on borrowed time.  Naptime will only last so long!  haha.   I wanted to share a few pics from my post over at The Scrappy Tree. Today it was all about my paper bag pockets that I recently made.

Please stop on over to The Scrappy Tree and read up on them.  They are really fun to make and give as gifts.  I also added them to my ETSY SHOP, so if you'd like some for yourself, you can pick them up there.  As always, if you'd like a custom order, just message me!  I'd be happy to do it!

This week I am starting all the fun tax preparation stuff but I hope to get a little crafting in here and there too!

Flea Market Photos

I had a lot of fun this past weekend when I went to a flea market. I found a lot of "old relatives"! :) Here's a peek into all the old photos I came home with. The cards above are so cool! I just love them. They tell the story of a married couple and the husband apparently was tempted by the new maid! :) These were all the cards that I could find of the series unfortunately. There are more out there somewhere but the seller only had these.

Every single photo in this old drawer is from the flea market. There were so many lovely old images. Each time I look at them, I'm transported back to those days!

The photos above will be perfect to copy and place in a mini album!

This set is perhaps my favorite! I love the photos of the bride and groom! Check out the bride's bouquet! Yikes! :)

PaperBag gift pocket over at The Scrappy Tree

Today over at The Scrappy Tree, I shared my pictures of the gift I made for my Grandmother. Click here to check out the post!

Here's a look at the trims I included in her gift pocket!

I'd like to thank Michelle Wooderson for her inspiration on this project!

I haven't been scrapbooking in quite awhile but that's going to change! I decided to purchase Project Life from Becky Higgins and get to getting our daily memories preserved! Here's a little taste of Project Life!

It not only looks great in my opinion, but it also looks easy! Great combination in my book! :) I look forward to showing you some layouts in the future.....Amazon is sending it now!
