A creative night

Do you ever get that totally awesome feeling when you get a lot done? Even if it's just all the laundry? Well, I got a lot of crafting done (at least a lot of crafting for me) last night. I made a birthday card and two layouts!

Here's the birthday card:

I picked the patterned papers from my stash of long neglected papers. I thought they had a nice vintage vibe to them. Then I tacked on a part of a doily. Next I used my sewing machine and stitched on the two sides of the card. I found this pretty pink lace that then made its way on the card. I matted my image on a pinkish/purple card stock, inked it up with ColorBox and glued it on top of the lace ribbon. I used some Crackle paint in linen and pink on a chipboard flower and added some Primas and vintage buttons to complete the card.

Supplies Used:

Paper from who knows where :)
Vintage lace, doily, buttons
Crafty Secrets image
Color Box ink (Dune)
Sewing machine

Since I hadn't made a layout in FOREVER, I decided to scrap the girls' dance photos. I am still quite uncomfortable doing layouts. I doubt myself at every choice possible whether it's picking paper or the design itself. I am learning to let go and just do whatever!! Here's my attempt at that!

I liked Debbie's pic this year with one of their props, the purple Cowboy hat. I loved the purples and pinks in her costume and I thought the background paper (taken just the day before from my Grandmother's unwanted papers) matched well! I put that down on top of a white 12 by 12 sheet of cardstock. Since the background paper had a bit of green in it as well (hard to see any in the photo though), I searched for the right green. I couldn't find it for the longest time. Then I looked in my Prima flower basket and boom!! The packaging from some flowers was perfect so I cut it up to mat her photo on top of a layer of vintage sheet music spritzed with Glimmer Mist. I was able to use a lot of scrap materials for this project!

Supplies used:
Bazzill white card stock
Sandylion patterned paper
Prima packaging
Basic Grey paper
Maya Rd. journaling circles
Maya Rd. birds
Sweet Clover, Delphinium Glimmer Mists
Tim Holtz Sizzix die
Hero Arts pearls

Finally, I made Ella's layout:

I matched the colors of Ella's costume with the cardstock and papers, but I thought the pink negative space was just too much. So, I inked up a Tattered Angels Glimmer Screen with Frost White ColorBox Chalk ink and stamped it on the cardstock. I used Glimmer Mist on the scalloped cardstock and the base pink cardstock as well. I really love using that stuff!

Supplies Used:

AC Cardstock (pink)
Pink paislee paper
Pink Paislee letters
Thickers
Making Memories vintage findings items

Thanks for looking today!
