My three cuties and a card!
We had a wonderful day at the park this past weekend so I thought I would share a pic of my three favorite little people enjoying their day!
I had this butcher block paper (De ja Views) from http://www.peachycheap.com/ for the longest time and I finally used some of it!!! I get this enormous sense of happiness when I use something that I've had for a very long time! Anyway, I loved the mixture of green and magenta for this card and the cling stamp from Hero Arts was just so pretty and I thought it made a good match with the flowers on the background paper.

Last night seemed to be going by so so quickly and before I knew it, it was 9 pm. I was sitting up in my attic scrap space looking around at all the scraps and things I should be putting away and then I decided to start a card and finish a few inchies before the night completely slipped away from me. Here's what I came up with.
This card does not have any sentiment stamped on either the outside or inside, so I am not sure what I'll use it for yet! I think it would make a nice thinking of you card. This card was not without it's errors (I'll fill you in on that in a minute), but overall, I am pleased with the look of the card. I can't help but look at these vintage pattern images and smile!
I used Close to My Heart Cream cardstock for the base of this card. I also used close to My Heart papers for this as well. I distressed the edges of the papers with my finger nail (where in the world are my 2 distressing tools when I need them?) and I used my Scotch ATC adhesive gun to apply adhesive (since I wanted to stitch, I did not use my Yes Glue!) Now my sewing machine was acting goofy (I am about 100% sure it was due to operator error) and for some reason, my zig zag stitching that I selected to do got done inside out! My zig zags ended up on the underside of the paper and I was left with this somewhat strage stitching on top, but I am okay with it I think! :) I was too tired to figure out the problem last night! I'll try to tackle that today. I had cut out my vintage pattern girls and place them on top of my layered papers. Finally I put on the layered circles with button and viola! Done!!
The next thing I worked on was finishing my June Fabric inchies for our Sheila Inchie Swap. We needed to use fabric in some way on the inchie and I chose to adhere the fabric to cardstock and use the fabric as a base. The inchie on the left had a really pretty pattern of flowers on it and I used fabric stiffener to adhere the fabric on the cardstock base. Once dry, I inked the edges of the fabric, and sewed (somehow that zig zag stitch came out okay and I did the stitching after I did the one on the card above!!). I stamped the word beautiful on kraft cardstock, inked it, and adhered it with glue. Finally, I glued on a button. Each one of the inchies I did like this one had a different button on them. The inchie on the right is probably my favorite one. I really loved the fabric and the colors of the fabric too. I used fabric stiffener to adhere the fabric on the card stock base. Once dry, I used thread from a frayed fabric scrap I had to make the ties on the inchie. Finally, I added a Prima and a gemstone to the inchie.

Card exhange cards
I was busy in my scraproom last night making 4 cards for a monthly card exchange and this is what I came up with.

Thanks for looking! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I like the different size of this card and it was really quick to do. My first goal in making this card was to use some paper that I have had for a long time and wasn't in love with anymore. All the papers used on this card are from a Fiskars pack that I got from a Scrapbook and Rubber Stamping convention. I used an acrylic stamped sentiment from Inkadinkado as well as a Martha Stewart border punch. The flowers and brad used in this card was also from the Fiskars pack that I got at the convention.
Thanks for looking! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Lots of birthdays coming up!
Last night I got crafty and got a start on a lot of Summer birthday cards that need to get done. It seems like each month has at least 5 birthdays in it, so I better get busy! :) I took a photo of one of the cards I made last night. (I'm saving pics of others for when I have a creative dry spell and need some pics for my blog! lol).
This card used Webster's Pages papers, a vintage newspaper from 1900 (yes, I tore the original, but in my defense, I have a lot of them!!) I made a copy of a vintage pattern girl (this one is one of my favorites and I paid almost $10 for her on ebay! Yikes!!) and I glued her on with Yes Glue! Oh, I did attempt to stitch with my sewing machine before I put her on the card, but I was having problems because I did not let the glue dry first and my needle was sticking. So, the sewing is a bit rough! LOL! I still liked it though so I added the pattern girl, a ribbon and the Happy Birthday sentiment (Elizabeth Craft Designs) to the card to complete it. The inside of the card is also stitched (I didn't glue first that time!! lol)
Have a wonderful day!!

A new stamped card
Last week I had browsed the Hero Arts website and I found this cling stamp and had to order it!! I just love my vintage patterns and this couldn't have been any more made for me! I made 4 of these cards for a monthly card exchange and while I am not totally loving this card (It might be too monochromatic for my liking or something isn't quite right...I made them at midnight so that might be part of it), I still like this card a bit and I thought I would share it today.
Supplies Used:
Hero Arts Cling Stamp
Hero Arts and Kaiser Kraft flowers
Hero Arts gemstones
DCWV papers
Bazzill Kraft cardstock
Fiskars border Punch
