Art journaling

My friend Gayle introduced me to art journaling and over at The Scrappy Tree, she's started an art journaling challenge. This first art journaling prompt was to create a page based on Alice In Wonderland and this was so much fun. I painted my page with purple paint, then I used some vintage newspaper that my Grandmother had sent me. I thought it was appropriate that the title of the paper was "The Portal". I included an Alice In Wonderland image as well as a quote to my page. I also used glitter, flowers, and chipboard flourishes to complete my page.

Enjoy your weekend!

A product I love

I have been totally busy with getting tax stuff ready and watching the Olympics that I haven't been able to be super crafty lately. I did go to my card class this past Saturday and I found a product that I really love, Glue Gloss. It's made by ClearSnap and it is literally glue in a lip gloss container with a lip gloss wand and it is super easy to apply to those hard to get edges, etc. Have you found a new product you really love? Share it with me in a comment!

Inchies

I joined a swap on Scrapbook.com called My Favorite Things and I chose to make inchies of my favorite scrapbook supplies. This one that I am sharing with you today is vintage printed papers (like Graphic 45) and flowers. This was a fun swap to do! I really enjoy making inchies.

Thanks

I made 13 of these cards for a card exchange coming up at a somewhat local card store. I wanted to dust off my Cricut machine so I used it for making the flower pieces as well as the stem. I used Fiskar border punches for two of the patterned paper strips. I used Hero Arts acrylic stamps as well. the patterned paper is from SEI and the kraft cardstock is from Bazzill. I really enjoyed using the Cricut again and I need to make a better habit out of using it. Do you have a certain supply or machine that you need to use more often? Please share what that might be in a comment. Then I won't feel alone in neglecting something in my craft room! lol

Hopefully My Dad Never Comes Here....

Okay, the only reason I hope he doesn't come here (at least before March 13th) is because this is HIS birthday card that I am showing today! I really enjoyed making this card and to be honest that is a big surprise because making masculine cards are not my favorite thing to do, but this one was fun. I had this really cute camping stamp set from Storage Units, Ink and More which gave me the trees and male image. I used Bazzill kraft cardstock for the card base, then I added AC Cardstock, Basic Grey paper and DCWV paper as well. I used a $1 stamp from Michaels for the "Happy Birthday" and Websters Pages letters for "dad". I paper pieced the stamped guy's shirt as well as his suspenders and collar. I used large foam squares to make him pop off of the card.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Some snow play...

It has been a frustrating week where I have not been able to work in my craft room as much as I'd like. In fact, I am not even sure when I was last up there! Tonight is looking like another non crafty day since I need to go to Walmart and pick up some things! I hope to get busy this weekend. Since I have nothing crafty to show for myself, I will show some pictures from the kids playing outside on Tuesday.

Yup, the snow moutain that kids are on in the back yard is about as tall as the top of the swing in the backyard. They made a slide down the snow mountain and had a blast! It was so much fun to watch them.

Fooling around!

Debbie and Ella were fooling around this morning so I thought I'd share a picture. I didn't get to my scraproom last night. I had a busy night cleaning and then watched Hoarders!
