April Inchies

Today is an absolutely beautiful Spring day here. I hope you all are enjoying a fantastic day out playing, or if you aren't playing yet, you will be after work! Today I am sharing a few inchies I made for an inchie swap next month.

This first inchie uses some AC cardstock as the base. I stamped the Inkadinkado girl onto the darker pink cardstock and cut out the face. I also stamped this on the base pink inchie as well. I applied Glossy Accents to the hair and I placed a small flower in her hair from a $1 punch I got at Michaels a few years back. Once the Glossy Accents were dry, I used 3D foam to place the darker pink stamped image on top of the base!

The second inchie I made had Kraft cardstock as the base. I then punch out a 1 in. square from my Vintage organ music book and glued it to the base. I stamped this adorable little girl (Crafty Secrets Acrylic stamp set) and cut her out and glued to the inchie. I finished off with some brown ink around the inchie.
Thanks for stopping by today!

A little more of my storage

Last night I was busy with kids' baths, story time, cleaning, and watching American Pickers and Pawn Stars so I was not able to spend a lot of time in my scraproom (I desperately need cable up in my scrappy space). Anyway, since I did not get a chance to complete a project, I decided to show you another little way I organize in my scrapspace.

I use this piece of milk glass to hold my Distress Crackle Paints. For now it works! If I get anymore bottles of Crackle paint, I might have a problem!! lol. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you get a chance to enjoy some Spring weather outdoors where you are!

A Winter Layout

Here it is....finally Spring, beautiful weather and I'm doing a Winter layout!! lol. I'm a bit behind of course! This layout is using one of my favorite pics of Ella this past Winter. There was so much white space with it that I used a Melissa Frances Winter rub on on the side. I have been on a stitching kick lately so I stitched pink tissue paper on the left side of the picture also. I love Kaiser Kraft wooden scrapbook flourishes and I decided to paint them with Crackle paint and use them on this layout.

I had a Making Memories Vintage Winter kit that had these fantastic flowers in it and I added Making Memories pewter brads to it. I had a snowflake charm that I added to the flowers as well. The fabric came from an etsy order that I decided to reuse for this project. I believe the diecut paper I used was K and Co. I have had it FOREVER and my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I believe K and Co. is correct. The backing paper is from Fancy Pants designs.

Thank you for looking today!

For consideration...

One of my goals for 2010 was to be published either in print or online and these two pieces were made for consideration.

The first card is a Happy Birthday card using vintage sheet music. I love to use vintage sheet music in my projects. I also love to use vintage 1950s patterns and this card combines both of these loves!

The second thing for consideration is this High Fashion atc. I used GCD Studios paper, Cosmo Cricket paper, Marvy flower punch, Vintage Vogue pattern , Glossy Accents, GCD studios domed sticker.

********Updated posting as of April 5th: I am so happy to say that both of my projects were picked up by Scrapbook News and Review!! Now I am going to move on to trying to get published by Paper Crafts or Cards Magazine (those are going to be tough I'm sure!) I am honored to be a part of Scrapbook News and Review!!*******

Altered tin

Well, I did manage to get into my scraproom last night and I sat there and I had no idea what to make. Then all of a sudden it came to me. I had seen an altered tin in a book that I was looking at earlier in the day so I decided to make one myself. My Grandmother had given me Altoids tins quite a number of years ago and I finally altered it! I started by painting it with Gesso. I originally planned on painting the whole thing with Crackle Paint, but I changed my plan! lol

I ended up using some of the Artist's paper that came with an issue of Take Ten Magazine and I cut it to fit the lid. Then I applied my cute little pattern girl and Creative Imaginations rub on. Then I applied Picket Fence Crackle Paint.

On the bottom of the tin I used a piece of white and pink lace. I used pink seam binding and a string of pearls to go around the outer edge of the tin's lid. This photo above has the inside contents (slightly smaller than an atc) displayed.

This is a picture of all the contents taken out.

"I Make Stuff" uses a Homespun Chic fabric tag from GCD studios. I used pattern tissue paper, my sewing machine, Homespun Chic paper and a vintage button to complete the card!

I just love my pattern girls and here is a cute one from a Simplicity pattern. She is on top of lace and the word love was cut from an old book (GASP! yes, I cut a book.)

I used a Homespun Chic transparency on this little card as well as a Glimmer misted piece of sheet music and I stitched it to my card. The sentiment is from Melissa Frances and is rubbed on to a piece of pattern tissue paper. The crown was supplied from my friend Kristin.

I had fun working on this project so I can't wait to add to it. I might need another tin. This one doesn't have a lot of room left! :)

Busy, busy, busy...

Oh boy, has the time flown by lately!! I have not been able to get very crafty lately, but the calendar is finally slowing down a bit so I hope to work some tonight and have something to share with you tomorrow. Last night we had our church pictures taken and I snapped a quick shot of the kiddos before we headed out. I tried to have everyone is green/purple for the pics.

Kids projects on The Scrappy Tree

Today I did a kid's craft project over at The Scrappy Tree. It was a super easy, quick and fun project to have the kids do. Last night Debbie did the one pictured below and all the daycare kiddos are doing the flowers today. Go over to www.thescrappytree.blogspot.com to see the details and more pictures and check in the next couple of days to see more kid friendly projects that will use things you most likely have around the house!
